We will walk the popular Caryl Trail to an old mill site. Along the way, we will use magnifying glasses to see what lives under fallen logs and along the forest floor. We may also see some bird life including northern orioles and hawks. The walk is appropriate for all ages. From the high point of the trip we will have a view of the Boston skyline on a clear day. Please bring water, sun screen and insect repellent. Wear good shoes or hiking boots.
Chris has an environmental studies degree from the University of Wisconsin. He leads Outdoorsrx trips for families in the Western suburbs of Boston. He also leads nature awareness trips, called Appreciating Nature. In 2014, Chris offered trained volunteer and crew naturalists in how to run nature awareness programs for families. He loves to hike and bike.
Fast-paced 8-mi. hike to such beautiful places as Fairhaven Bay, Heywood's Meadow, and Walden Pond, including alpaca sightings and a stop at a hidden farm store, 9:45am-2:00pm. Bring lunch, water, sturdy footwear. Meet at Lincoln Station commuter parking lot on Lincoln Road. From Route 128/Route 2 intersection, take Route 2 west (Exit 29B) 2.5 miles. At Bedford Street light, take right just after light to loop onto Bedford Street south across Route 2. Take Bedford Street 1.1 miles to intersection in Lincoln Center, then continue on what is now Lincoln Road for 1.6 miles.

From I-93 take exit 15 Columbia Rd. and turn right on Columbia Rd.
