Harold Parker State Forest, North Andover

6-mile hike to quarry, Berry Pond, Sterns Pond, and other points of interest. From 10:00am-2:00pm. Mostly flat terrain with some rocky areas. Winter hiking shoes and snowshoes advised. Bring water, lunch, and something warm to drink. I-93 Exit 41, Wilmington to Route 125N. Travel 2.8 miles and turn right at the State Police Station onto Harold Parker Road. Go 1.4 miles to the end; the parking lot is directly in front of you. Heavy snow cancels. No dogs. Non-AMC members, $1.

Pond Meadow, Braintree

Easy-to-moderate 4-mile walk/snowshoe through scenic woods and meadows and along pond. From 9:45am-12:00pm. Bring snacks, water, hiking poles, and sturdy footwear. Meet at Braintree parking lot. From the SE Expressway, head south to the Braintree split and keep left onto Route 3S for 1.8 miles. Then turn right at Exit 17 down the ramp to the traffic circle and take the third right onto Union Street east for 0.7 miles. Turn right onto Middle Street and travel 0.7 miles to a left at Liberty Street, then an immediate right into the lot. Storm cancels. No dogs. Non-AMC members, $1.

I-93 Exit 33 in Medford, take South Border Road west for 2.2 miles, then Mystic Valley Parkway for 0.9 miles. Turn right on Bacon Street and pass under the tracks to the parking lot on the left.
