Meet at Lone Tree Hill parking lot at 251 Mill Street, Belmont, a few hundred yards south of Concord Ave intersection (on the left heading south). If the lot is full, park in Rock Meadow lot 100 yards north on the opposite side of Mill Street. Bring water, snacks, and traction devices if snow or ice possible.

Moderate pace 5 mile walk, across grassy meadows and through hemlock forest, to scenic Walden Pond. Visit a cove, once inhabited by Henry Thoreau. Enjoy sit-down break, on the shore of Walden. Bring water and snacks. Walk followed by dinner/social hour at China Ruby Restaurant, in nearby Maynard, at around 2:00 PM. Meet 11:00 AM, at Lincoln Train Station commuter parking lot. From Route 2, take Route 126 South for 2 miles. Turn left on Codman Road, follow to end. Turn left, see Train Station on left.
Join AMC Family Outings for a fun relaxed Winter Weekend roughly 2 ½ hours north of Boston at Calumet lodge & cabins. On the edge of Lake Ossipee, Calumet offers hiking, snowshoeing, tubing, ice skating, x-c skiing at our doorstep, and optional DH skiing nearby. Adults relax while kids build snowmen and snow angels and play outdoor basketball and broom ball at the covered pavilion. This weekend includes accommodations, all meals, activities, & down time for kids & adults. Saturday evening, there is a campfire w/singing & stories on the beach.
