This session will cover the basics of sea kayak navigation with both practical sessions on land and on the water. Topics covered will be: chart and compass skills, boating channels and navigational aids, tides, and nav-on-the-move. Preference given to those who attended the Intro to Boston Harbor on June 16 or in previous years. Otherwise must be confident in a sea kayak in coastal waters and have assisted rescue skills.. This session will take place in Hingham Harbor. A 15 foot (minimum) sea kayak with fore and aft bulkheads, spray skirt, PFD, are required.
Paddle from Cohasset Cove, Cohasset Harbor along the Gold Coast and see the gorgeous houses and yachts. Play along the rocky coves and small islands with lunch break along the shore. Level 2 Trip. Must have done a wet exit. Kayaks with double bulkheads, 14ft or more. Dress for the water temperature!
Paddle from Hull through the Gut to the Outer Brewster Islands passing Boston Light on the way. We will be exploring the various rock gardens and playing in the more benign ones. Time and weather permitting we may venture out to the Graves to see the lighthouse and even more rock garden play. Good paddling skills and helmets are required!
Come to our Wednesday evening (4 pm - dark, June 5 - Aug 28) pond socials! These are informal get-togethers at a pond in Concord (near Walden Pond) to practice paddling skills, roll whitewater kayaks and play around.
Everyone is welcome to join us with their own boat! We have WW kayak rentals for $10. You must be able to transport the kayak from the boathouse to the pond and back (approx. 5 miles).
Intended for intermediate sea kayakers who want to take their skills to the next level. This training session will cover strokes, use of skegs and rudders, rescues, navigation, tides, crossing boating channels, and group cohesion and leadership. It will take place in Boston Harbor and will include paddling around the Inner Harbor Islands. Intermediate sea kayaking skills are required, including the ability to re-enter your kayak with an assisted rescue. Expect a full day of instruction, training, and paddling.
An annual training event for sea kayak enthusiasts on Lake Cochituate, Framingham. We will work all essential skills for safe and effective paddling on the ocean. This is a good opportunity to refine and improve techniques and get ready for the upcoming season. This year we welcome new comers and beginners to sea kayaking.

Tidewater Canoe and Sea Kayak Camping Weekend. Easy paddling, good food and informal instruction available. This is a good introduction to a Tidewater Paddling area that is ideal for sea kayaking. We have the option of both introductory and advanced canoe or sea kayak day trips from Beal Island.
Enjoy happy hour and dinner around a campfire. Moonlight paddle if water permits.
