Join the leaders for a relaxing kayak on the water exploring nature along the Charles river. Views of Boston with Cormorants, Great Blue herons, Egrets, and even bald Eagles have been spotted along the river. Paddle Boston in Kendall Square is a short walk from the Kendall T stop and parking is available at the Garage at 350 Kendall Street, Cambridge. Must be comfortable on the water. Experienced kayakers only please.
Paddling - Flatwater
Come to our Wednesday evening (4 pm - dark, June 5 - Aug 28) pond socials! These are informal get-togethers at a pond in Concord (near Walden Pond) to practice paddling skills, roll whitewater kayaks and play around.
Everyone is welcome to join us with their own boat! We have WW kayak rentals for $10. You must be able to transport the kayak from the boathouse to the pond and back (approx. 5 miles).

AMC Ponkapaug Camp is on the eastern shore of the 230-acre Ponkapoag Pond in the 8,500 acre Blue Hills Reservation just 13 miles south of downtown Boston. We have planned a night out with a fire and Smores and family friendly canoe experience coupled with friendly walks and hikes on local trails.
Jeanne has led trips for 45+ years for summer camps, college outings, Sierra Club, and AMC, among others. Jeanne is Past Chair AMC Boston Family Outings and a YOP (Youth Opportunities Program) trained leader with Advanced Wilderness First Aid Training. Jeanne leads hiiking, backpacking, XC Ski, snowshoe, and canoe trips, among others. Jeanne also leads for AMC Adventure Travel, having led to Switzerland, Peru (Machu Picchu), and Morocco and has trips coming up to New Zealand and Fiji/Tonga.
Brian is a seasoned hiker and backpacker. His interests are fitness and nature, with a strong fondness for urban parks and anything involving the Olmsteads..thats right ..it was a family business. Brian enjoys leading urban walking trips as well as 4 season trips for families in Boston and new Hampshire. Both backpacks as well as hikes are interesting and fun for children and their families. Within the last year, he has been involved with shelter, hut and all season experiences in the whites.
Meet at 9:00 AM on Sunday morning at the Topsfield Fairgrounds PARKING LOT Entrance on Rt. 1 in Topsfield MA. If you are coming from the south, take Rt. 95 to Rt. 1 in Topsfield. Continue driving north on Rt. 1. You go down a long hill to the bottom where Rt. 1 crosses the Ipswich River. It is not obvious that you have crossed the Ipswich River, look carefully. Immediately ahead on the right is the Fair Grounds Parking Lot Entrance. You should see a number of vehicles there with canoes on the roof.
Tidewater Canoe and Sea Kayak Camping Weekend. Easy paddling, good food and informal instruction available. This is a good introduction to a Tidewater Paddling area that is ideal for sea kayaking. We have the option of both introductory and advanced canoe or sea kayak day trips from Beal Island.
Enjoy happy hour and dinner around a campfire. Moonlight paddle if water permits.
Join us for a weekend of flat water kayaking and canoeing and camping on Squam Lake in New Hampshire. Explore the lake by kayak and camp on Bowman Island on Saturday night.
Join 40 AMC Young Members for a weekend getaway to Three Mile Island Camp (TMIC), Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. Situated on an island of 43 rocky woodland acres, TMIC offers a delightful recreational experience in the heart of New Hampshire's lake district. Participants will enjoy a weekend of canoeing, kayaking, sitting by their cabin or camp fire, playing games, and having a grand ole time! A couple of 'led' activities will be offered but mostly this will be an unstructured weekend to socialize, exercise, and relax!
Michele has been a volunteer hike leader for AMC since 2006. She enjoys connecting people with nature and is one of the lucky few who have made her avocation her vocation. By weekday, Michele protects wetlands and manages 2,000 acres of Open Space for Weston, MA. Besides leading backpacks, nature walks, and hikes for AMC, Massachusetts Audubon Society, & other local non-profits, Michele can be found on rainy nights in spring, helping frogs & salamanders cross the road on the way to vernal pools

Join Family Outings for our first annual Connecticut River Paddle Overnight. We put in at Pauchaug Brook, Northfield, MA Saturday late morning and paddle ~ 5.6 miles down the River to Munn's Ferry where we camp Saturday night. Sunday after breakfast we pack up and get an early start to avoid the wind. We paddle ~ 3.2 miles to an early lunch at Riverview Picnic and Recreation Area and then another 5.3 miles to our take-out at Barton's Cove.

Join us for a relaxed flatwater evening paddle on the Charles River in Waltham.
Launch time is 6 pm from the boat launch in Waltham. Plant to arrive 15-30 minutes early to unload and prepare.
