AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

Enjoy private lakefront cabins w/shared bathhouse (w/shower) or a shared lakefront bunkhouse with 4 rooms with 4 bunk beds in each room. Enjoy an extensive trail network, beautiful Second Roach Pond, paddle boarding, kayaks and canoeing just steps away from our cabins and bunkhouse. On a clear night perhaps we can look through their telescope at the night sky.

Join us for a night out with a fire and Smores and family friendly canoe experience coupled with hikes thru Harold Parker State Forest and adjacent Trails. We will relish the night out experience sleeping next to a pond in a tent with the sleeping bag and pad for bedding. The presence of other families......and of course canoeing and walks will give everyone a short but fun filled outdoors overnight. Canoes, life jackets and instruction is included. Camping is primitive (no running water or flush toilets not to speak of showers). Cost/person: Adults $25; Kids: $20.

Brian is a seasoned hiker and backpacker. His interests are fitness and nature, with a strong fondness for urban parks and anything involving the Olmsteads..thats right ..it was a family business. Brian enjoys leading urban walking trips as well as 4 season trips for families in Boston and new Hampshire. Both backpacks as well as hikes are interesting and fun for children and their families. Within the last year, he has been involved with shelter, hut and all season experiences in the whites.

Join us for family camping with canoe and hiking adventures, group dinner, campfire, S'mores and lots of fun. AMC Ponkapaug Camp is on the eastern shore of the 230-acre Ponkapoag Pond in the 8,500 acre Blue Hills Reservation just 13 miles south of downtown Boston. We have planned a night out with a fire and Smores and family friendly canoe experience coupled with friendly walks and hikes on local trails.
Jeanne has led trips for 45+ years for summer camps, college outings, Sierra Club, and AMC, among others. Jeanne is Past Chair AMC Boston Family Outings and a YOP (Youth Opportunities Program) trained leader with Advanced Wilderness First Aid Training. Jeanne leads hiiking, backpacking, XC Ski, snowshoe, and canoe trips, among others. Jeanne also leads for AMC Adventure Travel, having led to Switzerland, Peru (Machu Picchu), and Morocco and has trips coming up to New Zealand and Fiji/Tonga.

Meet at 9:00 AM on Sunday morning at the Topsfield Fairgrounds PARKING LOT Entrance on Rt. 1 in Topsfield MA. If you are coming from the south, take Rt. 95 to Rt. 1 in Topsfield. Continue driving north on Rt. 1. You go down a long hill to the bottom where Rt. 1 crosses the Ipswich River. It is not obvious that you have crossed the Ipswich River, look carefully. Immediately ahead on the right is the Fair Grounds Parking Lot Entrance. You should see a number of vehicles there with canoes on the roof.

Tidewater Canoe and Sea Kayak Camping Weekend. Easy paddling, good food and informal instruction available. This is a good introduction to a Tidewater Paddling area that is ideal for sea kayaking. We have the option of both introductory and advanced canoe or sea kayak day trips from Beal Island.
Enjoy happy hour and dinner around a campfire. Moonlight paddle if water permits.

Join Family Outings for our first annual Connecticut River Paddle Overnight. We put in at Pauchaug Brook, Northfield, MA Saturday late morning and paddle ~ 5.6 miles down the River to Munn's Ferry where we camp Saturday night. Sunday after breakfast we pack up and get an early start to avoid the wind. We paddle ~ 3.2 miles to an early lunch at Riverview Picnic and Recreation Area and then another 5.3 miles to our take-out at Barton's Cove.

Join AMC families at this tent-only family friendly campground set on the shore of a 200 acre lake less than two hrs northwest of Boston. Enjoy roaring waterfalls a short walk away, Explore miles of hiking including the Tully Trail; great biking and paddling up the picturesque Tully River, or explore the lake's islands and inlets via boat, or swimming. Relax by the water or get out on it: bring your own kayak or canoe; or rent canoes, kayaks, fishing poles, GPS, or disc golf equipment. Maybe, just spend some time relaxing beneath the towering pine trees. Enjoy bird watching.
