Family Hike to Great Blue Hill (Blue Hills Reservation), Milton, MA (BHP: Level 2)

Sunday, April 7, 2019 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Stretching from Dedham to Quincy, Milton and Randolph, the Blue Hills Reservation encompasses >7000 acres and has >125 miles of trails, and it is only ~35 miles from Boston! We will hike a loop of about 3 miles, mostly along the Skyline trail to the top of Great Blue Hill. Great views, snacks at the Eliot Tower and an optional visit to the weather observatory. Don't let its proximity to the city or it max elevation of 635 feet fool you, the rocky and rolling terrain can be a real workout.

Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon
