Volunteer with Depave Somerville

Saturday, May 18, 2019 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Join Young Members (20s and 30s/young at heart) for a depaving party! We have volunteered at these events before and they're always really fun and different. We will be using sledgehammers, pickaxes, and wheelbarrows to tear up asphalt from a "yard" in Somerville to allow the property owners to use the former lot for green space! This helps to soak up rain, make room for plants to support pollinator species, and decrease the urban heat island effect.
