AMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors locally, visit many of our lodges and campgrounds, and join virtual events and activities. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the AMC liability waiver, online registration is required for all in person AMC events.

Spy Pond Trails Project

Join us with the volunteers from the Spy Pond Environmental Task Group on a trail project on the pathway along the south end of Spy Pond. The trail work will continue the brushing started in 2005 to close side trails to the pond and open up the path. Registration required for first time volunteers - call Leader. Hike Ward Reservation in Andover MA

We'll hike TTOR's Ward Reservation in Andover/North Andover MA and get energized for the Super Bowl. Meet at 12:30 pm at Prospect Rd parking area in Andover MA. We'll hike about 4 miles along a section of the BCT and other reservation trails, enjoying marshland, woodland and grassland habitats, and resting at the Solstice Stones to enjoy the scenic views from Holt Hill, Essex County's highest point. Occasionally lingering to observe the reservation's ecology and learn about ongoing avian conservation efforts.

Hike Willowdale State Forest and Willowdale Meadow

Hike Willowdale State Forest, Topsfield/Ipswich MA. Take a break from watching football and enjoy a stress-free 4-5mile hike on a section of the Bay Circuit Trail and other woodland trails. We'll hike from Willowdale Meadow into WSF exploring the southern portion of this extensive forest and visit Pine Swamp. WSF is over 2400 acres with more than 40 miles of trails. Snowshoes or ice stabilizers could be needed depending on conditions. We'll meet at 1:00pm in parking area next to Willowdale Meadow on (~280) Ipswich Road, Topsfield.
