The Lyons-Cutler Reservation, a property of the Sudbury Valley Trustees in Sudbury, has 5-7 heron nests. At this time of year, the eggs have hatched and the baby herons have yet to fledge, so they are living in their nests. Herons have several young and they make quite a racket in their nests. The nests are high in the branches of both live and dead trees in the wetlands at Lyons Cutler. The walk is flat and takes only about 20 minutes from the parking area at a near-by school where we will meet at 9:30 am.
