Join us for a presentation from Ty Gagne on his latest book 'The Last Traverse: Tragedy and Resilience in the Winter Whites' - an epic account of two hikers who get caught in a winter storm atop New Hampshire's Franconia Ridge and the bravery and selflessness of the volunteers and professionals who willingly put themselves in harm's way to try and save them. This is a cautionary tale for anyone who hikes the White Mountains in winter.
The presentation will begin at 7:00 PM and will last approximately 1 hour.

Why settle for the old NYE routine in the city when you can do something spectacular that few people have done...Ring in the new year from one of NH's 48 4K's. Join us on this rare member only trip and celebrate the new year in true hiking style. The best part is that you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to hike. This is one occasion where you actually sleep in the day OF the hike.
Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon
