Family fun hiking and camping weekend July 31st 2020 (after 3 PM) to August 2nd (until 11 AM) at Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park in Carmel NY. Have fun, Improve your hiking and camping skills, and look forward to the option to backpack in the future. This program is at a walk-in (3 - 4 minutes) rustic group campsite next to the Appalachian Trail (AT). Rustic means tent camping, cooking outdoors and there are only portable toilets for bathroom facilities.

Join us for a weekend of tent camping and exploring a lake, hiking trails, a fire tower, biking trails, marshes, wildlife, and a boulder field of glacial erratics, all within Pawtuckaway State Park! There are options to rent kayaks/canoes/paddleboards for a fee from the Park. Bring your tent and sleeping gear and the leaders will plan and bring food and cooking equipment for meals. Days are open for you to do your own activities or join with others for a hike or a bike ride. Participants will all pitch in to help prepare the family-style meals and clean up.
Carrie has been an AMC leader since 2008 and has led family trips for over 7 years. She enjoys camping, rock-climbing, sketching, chocolate trail snacks and hiking in new places.

Celebrate "National Summit Day" with Young Members and start your August off right with a scenic car camping/hiking weekend in the Whites. The group will meet up Friday evening at a campground in New Hampshire, giving us the chance to get on the trail early the next day. We will climb Mt. Isolation via the Glen Boulder trail. This is an out and back trip over 11.3 miles and ~4,900 feet of elevation. This a long and strenuous hike that is not suitable for beginners. Saturday night we will return to the campsite for campfire, dinner, and relaxing.

Noble View is a great place to hike easier trails, and take in the picturesque beauty of the Pioneer Valley. North Cottage offers twin bed accommodations in varying room configurations to accommodate family style sleeping arrangements.

Join us on a Friday 7/5 hike to Mt. Washington via the less-travelled Nelson Crag Trail. Expect steep hike of 12 mi. rdtrp. with elev. gain of 3700 ft. We will do a shorter hike on Saturday, approx. 5 miles. Stay at convenient campground Thurs. 7/4 and Fri. 7/5 nights with heated pool. Hikers in their 20's-30's welcome. Joint HB/Young Members event. Ltd. to 6 hiker campers.

Join AMC Boston Young Members as we kick off the summer with a weekend of outdoor fun at AMC's Cold River Camp in North Chatham, NH. In true summer camp style, a variety of hiking and other activities will be offered each day as we explore the Evans Notch region of the White Mountains. Hikes will be offered each day for all experience levels. After hiking cool off with a swim, or return to camp to relax in the main lodge where dinner will be served. Enjoy socializing after dinner around the bonfire, or with games or other activities in the lodge.

FAMILY CAMPING ON CAPE COD, NICKERSON STATE PARK, BREWSTER, MA. We will camp at Nickerson State Park, a short walk from the beach at Flax Pond, where there is swimming, non-motorized boating, frog catching, biking and general fun. CHOOSE THE DAYS YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME! (2 night minimum on the weekend). Great for kids/teens of all ages. Convenient to the Outer Cape and local attractions, bike trails, and bayside beaches. Informal group activities may include group biking trips, swimming and excursions. Group size is 25-30. Group site for tenting. Breakfast and dinner included.

This trip is ONLY available to participants of the Spring Hiking Program. This car camp weekend will start off Friday night at CRAZY HORSE FAMILY CAMPGROUND, 788 HILLTOP ROAD, LITTLETON, NH, where we will set up tents and socialize. Saturday morning we will wake up early with a pancake breakfast and carpool to Mount Moriah . Mt Moriah is bare rock above tree line, offering incredible views on a clear day with 360° views of the Presidential Range and the rest of the Carter-Moriah Range.
Morgane is a 4-season leader and has been leading trips with the AMC since 2016. She usually does day hikes and hikes at a moderate pace. She is currently working on her NH 4000 footers. She speaks fluent French if you ever want to get some practice on the trail!
Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon

Join us for family camping with canoe and hiking adventures, group dinner, campfire, S'mores and lots of fun. AMC Ponkapaug Camp is on the eastern shore of the 230-acre Ponkapoag Pond in the 8,500 acre Blue Hills Reservation just 13 miles south of downtown Boston. We have planned a night out with a fire and Smores and family friendly canoe experience coupled with friendly walks and hikes on local trails.
Jeanne has led trips for 45+ years for summer camps, college outings, Sierra Club, and AMC, among others. Jeanne is Past Chair AMC Boston Family Outings and a YOP (Youth Opportunities Program) trained leader with Advanced Wilderness First Aid Training. Jeanne leads hiiking, backpacking, XC Ski, snowshoe, and canoe trips, among others. Jeanne also leads for AMC Adventure Travel, having led to Switzerland, Peru (Machu Picchu), and Morocco and has trips coming up to New Zealand and Fiji/Tonga.

Brian is a seasoned hiker and backpacker. His interests are fitness and nature, with a strong fondness for urban parks and anything involving the Olmsteads..thats right ..it was a family business. Brian enjoys leading urban walking trips as well as 4 season trips for families in Boston and new Hampshire. Both backpacks as well as hikes are interesting and fun for children and their families. Within the last year, he has been involved with shelter, hut and all season experiences in the whites.
