Spend a virtual evening with AMC local leader Jesse Waites on Thursday August 27th at 7:30pm as he takes you through his trek of Italy's Alta Via 1, a 75 mile long walking trail through the Italian Dolomites. You will see photos of the trailside wildlife, "refugios" deep within the mountains World War 1 battlefields, and along the way will learn to book your own Alta Via 1 excursion. Appalachian Mountain Club ("AMC") is pleased to be able to reopen some of its operations in accordance with state regulations. In connection with re-opening, AMC is requiring all volunteers and participants to read the following warning and sign the liability waiver in order to be present at AMC activities.

Family fun hiking and camping weekend July 31st 2020 (after 3 PM) to August 2nd (until 11 AM) at Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park in Carmel NY. Have fun, Improve your hiking and camping skills, and look forward to the option to backpack in the future. This program is at a walk-in (3 - 4 minutes) rustic group campsite next to the Appalachian Trail (AT). Rustic means tent camping, cooking outdoors and there are only portable toilets for bathroom facilities.

Join us on this rare member only trip and celebrate the new year in true hiking style. The best part is that you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to hike. This is one occasion where you actually sleep in the day OF the hike.
Casey leads trips year around for the hiking/backpacking committee of the AMC Boston Chapter. He is heavily engaged in the H/B leadership and training programs such as Spring/Fall Leadership Training as well as our educational programs in the Spring and Winter Hiking Programs. Like other hikers that hike before sun up and after sun down and do 20+ miles, Casey likes to do the same only keep it under 10 miles :) He's experienced but not a speed daemon

Join us for a weekend of tent camping and exploring a lake, hiking trails, a fire tower, biking trails, marshes, wildlife, and a boulder field of glacial erratics, all within Pawtuckaway State Park! There are options to rent kayaks/canoes/paddleboards for a fee from the Park. Bring your tent and sleeping gear and the leaders will plan and bring food and cooking equipment for meals. Days are open for you to do your own activities or join with others for a hike or a bike ride. Participants will all pitch in to help prepare the family-style meals and clean up.
Carrie has been an AMC leader since 2008 and has led family trips for over 7 years. She enjoys camping, rock-climbing, sketching, chocolate trail snacks and hiking in new places.
Amy is a leader for Boston Family Outings Committee. When she's not working on finishing her 48 4000-footers, Amy enjoys looking at maps, reading, cooking, eating, and spending time with her 12-year old twins, her husband, and their energetic Golden Retriever, "Bentley".
Celebrate "National Summit Day" with Young Members and start your August off right with a scenic car camping/hiking weekend in the Whites. The group will meet up Friday evening at a campground in New Hampshire, giving us the chance to get on the trail early the next day. We will climb Mt. Isolation via the Glen Boulder trail. This is an out and back trip over 11.3 miles and ~4,900 feet of elevation. This a long and strenuous hike that is not suitable for beginners. Saturday night we will return to the campsite for campfire, dinner, and relaxing.
Join Family Outings Columbus Day Fall Foliage Weekend at AMC's Noble View Outdoor Center, approx. 2-hrs West of Boston! Noble View is a great place to hike easier trails, and take in the picturesque beauty of the Pioneer Valley. Possible options as well for more challenging hikes "off campus" on local trails. $90pp for 2 nights bunk accommodations and meals OR tenting options available for $50pp! North Cottage offers twin bed accommodations in varying room configurations to accommodate family style sleeping arrangements.
Join us on a Friday 7/5 hike to Mt. Washington via the less-travelled Nelson Crag Trail. Expect steep hike of 12 mi. rdtrp. with elev. gain of 3700 ft. We will do a shorter hike on Saturday, approx. 5 miles. Stay at convenient campground Thurs. 7/4 and Fri. 7/5 nights with heated pool. Hikers in their 20's-30's welcome. Joint HB/Young Members event. Ltd. to 6 hiker campers.
