Thurs, Apr 16. Presentation, Mt. McKinley, Alaska. At 20,300, Mt. McKinley is the highest point in North America and is located at nearly the Arctic Circle in central Alaska. Also know as Denali by native Americans, Mt. McKinley has drawn climbers, explorers, and adventurers to its environs for nearly 150 years. First climbed in 1910 by a group of "Sourdoughs" from Fairbanks, the summit remains a challenge for the mountaineers of today. Our speaker, Roger Scholl, is a member of the NH Chapter, trip leader, and will speak on the trials and tribulations of a modern expedition to the West Buttress of Mt.
