Current and prospective AMC Sea Kayak leaders should attend our annual day long session to polish their skills and hone their training methods.The class will be run by a number of ACA-trained Sea Kayak instructors.We will cover a full range of trip-leading topics, from planning andscreening through strokes and rescue to safety, and the administrative details of running trips. Novice leaders will acquire practical knowledge on the water and grizzled veterans will share wisdom of seasons past. After a morning of trip-related info and teaching strokes and rescues, we will land to have lunch and briefly go over the trip schedule, AMC forms, and planning safe trips. After lunch we will all practice our rescues. Bring any safety equipment that you have, such as paddle floats, bilge pumps, tow ropes, and contact tow ropes. Rentals available nearby. May be $5 parking fee.
