The Devil's Path in New York is an amazing way to experience the Catskill Mountains. Along the way we'll hike up Indian Head (3,573'), Twin (3,640'), Sugarloaf (3,800'), Plateau (3,840'), Hunter (4,040') and West Kill (3,880'). We will hike 13 miles the first day, camping roughly halfway at the Devil's Tombstone State Campground, and continue Sunday for the remaining 12 miles. Our pace will be moderate (1.5 - 2 mph). Gear List: Please be sure to bring all necessary gear for a backpack. Participants are encouraged to buddy up on tents, however, everyone should come with food that they are willing to carry and eat. Mystic/Stonington

Bicycling Date: Sat June 22, 2013

Please join us for a nice cruise over mostly flat to rolling terrain that has something of interest for everyone. The route goes down into Stonington Village en route to Stonington Point and its marvelous views of Fishers Island Sound to the southwest and Block Island Sound to the southeast. The route then heads inland up and past wine country into No. Stonington Village. The route heads back toward the ocean and features a lovely ride along the Mystic River. You might want to bring a lunch because places to purchase anything along the route are limited. If we get finished later in the day and folks are still hungry we can grab a bite to eat at the world renowned Mystic Pizza. Remember the film Mystic Pizza starring my favorite actress Julia Roberts (just kidding!)? Everyone must have a helmet, a spare tube and a pump to inflate said tube. Of course if it rains we will have to cancel but let's keep our fingers crossed. Here is the link for the ride: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1054841

Hiking/Backpacking Date: Sat June 22, 2013

Celebrate the first day of summer (well, the first weekend day...) with a loop hike over the Three Sisters and Chocorua. Cited by art historian Joseph Ketner as "the most painted mountain in 19th century American landscape," Mt.Chocorua may not be a 4,000-footer, but at 10 miles and 2,800 cumulative feet of elevation this is a rugged hike with aesthetics as lofty as any mountain in the Whites.
