Redliners rejoice! Join us for a challenging but unique trip to Mt. Washington. We'll start the day bright and early as we head up the Great Gulf Trail, known for its steep valley, remarkable views of the surrounding mountains and attractive cascades.
We'll reach Spaulding Lake just in time for lunch before continuing to the summit (weather pending). After spending some time enjoying the summit views, we'll take an unusual descent down the Wamsutta trail before rejoining the Great Gulf. Total distance + elevation: 15.7mi/5,395'
Is this hike for you?
We'll be looking for strong hikers with recent experience with large elevation gains and long distances due to the difficulty of this route. For those of you with a fear of heights please note that the Wamsutta trail is steep at times and has one difficult scramble down a chimney.
