Galehead and Gateau (A3C)

Trip dates: Saturday, May 13, 2017 12:00 AM

Join 2 experienced 4-Season Leaders on their birthday for a celebratory day hike of 4,024' Galehead Mountain. This moderate hike of 10.2 miles round trip and 2,450' elevation gain will be rewarded with a veritable cakefest to be provided by the leaders and coleaders at the Galehead Hut after bagging the summit. Competition for a place on this hike will likely be fierce such that offers of additional baked confections will be gratefully received and could hold sway with the Leaders when screening prospective participants. The hike will take the Gale River, Garfield Ridge and Frost Trails to the summit and will likely take 6-10 hours depending on the amounts of cake consumed. Trail conditions may vary at this time of year, so prepare for snow, ice and mud on the trail.........as well as decadent amounts of cream cheese frosting.

Kellie A Connelly amckellie@gmail.com

Kellie is a 4-season leader with a preference for the winter season! She extensive experience in the Whites and Adirondacks, and is picking away at her 48's and 46'r lists, but seems to spend too much time repeating the "fun" ones! She also participates in H/B training programs and enjoys teaching others about the joys of hiking and sleeping outside, especially in the snow! Her ongoing adventures include finishing her NH 48 on Owl's Head, Ice Climbing in Ourary, CO, and Mount Rainier in August.
